PLACES TO VISIT IN NAGPUR :
- OLD BHONSLE CHATTRIS.
Old Bhonsle Chattris is located near the Nava Shukhrawari, close to the Nag River. The period between 1743 to 1853 was ruled by the Bhonsle Princely family.
2. SITABALDI FORT.
Sitabaldi Fort located in the center of the Nagpur City. This Fort is closed for General Public. On 15th August and 26th January only it is open for general public. This fort is a popular Tourist place in Nagpur. This fort has played a important role in Anglo Maratha War.
3. ZERO MILESTONE.
This large pillar is known as the ZERO MILESTONE which is located near the state assembly, just to the east of the Sitabaldi Fort. This is made from the Sand Stone. It is known as the Mid Point of India beacuse here east west and north south road’s get connected.
4. HIGH COURT.
Old building of the Nagpur High Court. This is located a kilometer and a half to the west of the Zero Point. This building was designed by the Henry Med. This is one of the finest buildings of the late british Period in India.
5. RAMTEK.
Ramtek one of the most important pilgrimage Center. It is 38KM northeast of Nagpur. It has several temples dedicated to the Hindu God Ram and other avatars of Vishnu. Ramtek is also known for Ancient Jain Temples with the Statues of Tirthankara.
6. SEVAGRAM ASHRAM.
Sevagram Ashram which is located to he south east of Nagpur which is almost 68KMS from Nagpur. Sevagram Ashram is located in the town of Wardha. It is the Mahatma Gandhi’s home from 1933. It is the memorial to Gandhi. The Best Place to Visit.
7. TADOBA NATIONAL PARK.
Tadoba National Park is also known as the “TADOBA ANDHARI RESERVE”. It is located in the Chandrapur District which is 144.8KMS from Nagpur City. This National Park was created in the year 1955. It is open for Visitors from October to June and on every Tuesday it is Closed. It has two main gate i.e. Kolara Gate and & Mohurli Gate.
8. UMRED PAUNI KARHANDLA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY.
Umred Pauni Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary which is located in Nagpur District and Bhandara Disrict. This is about 58KMS from Nagpur and 60KMS from Bhandara. This sanctuary has a connection with Tadoba National Park through the Wainganga River. Huge Male tiger Jai which has gone missing from October 2017.
